Detailed Review of vmrack Los Angeles Three-Network Optimized/Platinum Bandwidth Type Cloud Server
VMRack has launched its new Platinum series cloud servers starting from $3/month. Each VM supports 500Mbps~10Gbps bandwidth and uses high-performance NVMe SSD arrays. The official promotion claims "triple network optimization: ChinaNet/CUG/CMNET". How is the actual performance? We opened a 4GB memory VM for practical testing, focusing on "latency, international bandwidth testing, IP unlocking, and cloud server performance benchmarks" from a domestic network perspective. The data is for reference only.

The website offers both Chinese and English versions - you can switch languages using the toggle in the upper right corner.
The server uses AMD EPYC 7002 CPU with an unknown specific model, running at 2595.124MHz. The cloud server is KVM virtualized. We enabled BBR, IPv6 is not supported. The network provider AS46783 is actually VMRack itself, with location showing as Anaheim (a satellite city in the Greater Los Angeles area). Current I/O testing shows approximately 877MB/s:
FIO test results for read/write performance are as follows:
SpeedTest.Net bandwidth and latency test data for some international nodes:
SpeedTest.Net bandwidth and latency test data for some Asian nodes:
IPERF3 test results for several popular international nodes:
Multiple databases' assessment of the current IPv4 properties: Native US IPv4, unlocks TikTok, ChatGPT, Netflix, etc.
Streaming media test results are as follows:
VPS performance tests and benchmark scores:
Summary:
The IPv4 is a native US IP that can unlock TikTok, ChatGPT, Netflix, etc.
VPS performance is quite impressive, powered by the high-performance AMD EPYC platform.
The official promotion of "triple network optimization: ChinaNet/CUG/CMNET" actually means "direct connection for all three networks' outbound routes, with all return traffic forced through Unicom's AS10099+AS4837 links back to China". The network performance is quite good overall!
